Evergreen Fresh Sprouts LLC of Moyie Springs, Idaho, is recalling 215 cases of Broccoli Sprouts due to potential Salmonella contamination.
The product was delivered to distributors in Washington between August 24, 2026, and September 2, 2026, and may have been further distributed and sold in retail stores to consumers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington.
A multistate outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbifican, linked to the product, includes 22 reported cases as of September 9, 2026.
The recall was initiated after a Broccoli Sprout sample with a Use By date of September 16, 2026, tested positive for Salmonella by a third-party lab.
Consumers are urged to immediately discard the affected product.
Risk:
Consumption of products contaminated with Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.
