Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. is issuing a precautionary advisory for Marketside Celery Sticks due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The affected product, sold at Walmart, has a best if used by date of March 23, 2025.
Distributed to select stores in Alabama, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Consumers are advised to discard the product if they have it, even if frozen. No illnesses have been reported to date.
Risk:
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
