Goot Essa LLC is recalling Der Mutterschaf Cheese due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The cheese was distributed to customers in New Jersey, Virginia, Connecticut, and Montana through retail stores and restaurants.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Risk:
Consumption of products contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail and elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
