SUNS International Recalls Residential Elevator Interlock Switches Due to Fall and Crushing Hazard

SUNS International is recalling approximately 7,000 residential elevator interlock switches, model SS6291.
The switches were sold nationwide from September 2024 through November 2025, and manufactured between August 20, 2024, and November 6, 2025.
The switches can become stuck, allowing the elevator door to remain unlocked, posing fall and crushing hazards.
One incident of a stuck interlock switch has been reported, with no resulting injuries.
Consumers should immediately stop using residential elevators with these switches and contact SUNS International for a free replacement and professional installation.
Risk:
The affected interlock switches can become stuck in a retracted position, allowing the exterior door to remain unlocked, posing a risk of death or serious injury if the elevator is called to another floor.
