Company announcement

Nara Organics is voluntarily recalling all lots of its Powdered Infant Formula due to a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination.

The formula was distributed nationally across Target retail stores, Target.com, and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026.

Three infants in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania were hospitalized with infant botulism after consuming the formula; however, no deaths have been reported. The recall was announced on June 13, 2026.

Risk:

Infant botulism is a rare but potentially fatal illness that occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores are ingested and colonize the intestinal tract, producing botulinum neurotoxins in the immature gut of infants. Affected infants can present with symptoms such as constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelid, sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty, and possibly respiratory arrest.
