Giant Eagle, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of Smoked Mozzarella Pasta Salad due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recalled pasta salad was sold in Giant Eagle and Market District locations in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, and Indiana.

The recall is in response to a nationwide recall of ready-to-eat pasta originating from Nate’s Fine Foods.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Risk:

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. In healthy individuals, it may cause short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
