Boss Dairy Farms is recalling Charlevoix Cheese Company 8oz Mild Cheddar Cheese due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

The product was distributed in Michigan through retail stores.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

Risk:

Consumption of products contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal health issues in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
