Whole Foods Market is recalling select salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and other prepared foods containing jalapeños due to potential Salmonella contamination.

These products were sold in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio, with Best Before/By dates ranging from August 7, 2026, to August 16, 2026.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with these specific products to date.

Risk:

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
