Company announcement

Tri-Union Seafoods is recalling additional quantities of Genova Yellowfin Tuna due to inadvertent distribution of previously recalled product.

The product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum.

The recalled tuna was distributed to limited retail stores in multiple states including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Maryland, Virginia, and California. No illnesses have been reported.

Risk:

The “easy open” pull tab can lid on limited products had a manufacturing defect that may compromise the integrity of the product seal (especially over time), causing it to leak, or worse, be contaminated with clostridium botulinum, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.

Impacted states: IL, IN, KY, MI, OH, WI, MD, VA, CA
