Company announcement

Albertsons Companies has voluntarily recalled select store-made deli items due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recall affects products sold at various store banners in multiple states, including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported to date.

Risk:

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
