Taylor Fresh Foods is recalling various finished products containing jalapeño peppers, including dips, salsas, and guacamole.
This recall is due to potential Salmonella contamination from fresh jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, originating from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico.
The affected products were distributed to retail distribution centers in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
The 'Best If Used By' dates for these products are up to and including August 16, 2026.
To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with Taylor Fresh Foods' products containing jalapeños.
Risk:
Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
