FSIS has issued a public health alert for various soup and bowl products due to potential contamination with wood from an FDA-regulated cilantro ingredient.

The products were shipped to retail and institutional locations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

FSIS anticipates that other products may be added, which could result in nationwide impacts.

Consumers and institutions are urged not to consume or serve the products; they should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Risk:

The affected products may contain wood, posing a potential choking or injury hazard to consumers. Risk is higher for vulnerable individuals.
