Company announcement

ByHeart is expanding its voluntary recall to include all batches of ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula cans and Anywhere Pack™ nationwide due to potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum spores.

The recall was initiated after a spike of 84 infant botulism cases starting in August was reported.

If your infant is experiencing symptoms related to infant botulism, contact your health care provider immediately. Symptoms include constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelid, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak cry, generalized weakness, respiratory difficulty, and possible respiratory arrest.

Risk:

Infant botulism is a rare but serious illness that occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores are ingested and then colonize the intestinal tract, producing botulinum neurotoxins in the immature gut of infants.

Impacted states: Nationwide
