Company announcement

Supreme Service Solutions LLC is voluntarily recalling vegetable products due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recalled produce was distributed to Kroger and its affiliated retail stores located in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas and Michigan.

The outbreak has resulted in 26 illnesses in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

No illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported to date for items purchased from Supreme Produce.

Risk:

Consumption of products contaminated with Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
