Company announcement

August Egg Company is recalling 1,700,000 dozen brown cage free and brown certified organic eggs due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The eggs were distributed from February 3, 2025, through May 15, 2025, in California and Nevada at various retail locations.

The eggs were also distributed from February 3, 2025, through May 6, 2025, to Walmart locations in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Washington and Wyoming.

Consumers who have eggs with the plant code P-6562 or CA5330 and Julian Dates between 32 to 126 should return them for a full refund. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Risk:

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
