Modine Manufacturing Company Recalls Airedale Heating and Cooling Ventilation Fans Due to Fire Hazard

Modine Manufacturing Company is recalling Airedale Ventilation Fans, which are integrated into specific models of ClassMate DX Cooling and Air Source Heat Pumps and SchoolMate Water/Ground Source Heat Pumps, and also sold separately. The recall affects approximately 6,061 units sold nationwide from August 2013 through January 2026.
Modine has received 11 reports of incidents resulting in at least $2.7 million in property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Risk:
The ventilation fan motor in the heat pumps can short circuit if water gets on the circuit board, causing the units to overheat and posing a fire hazard.
