ABC Trading Recalls Light-Up Children’s Toys Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Battery Ingestion; Violate Mandatory Standard for Toys

ABC Trading has recalled approximately 43,674 units of light-up children's toys, including glasses, crown headbands, sparkle headbands, and ties.
The toys pose a serious ingestion hazard to children because button cell batteries are easily accessible.
The products were sold nationwide at ABC Trading stores in Los Angeles, California, other specialty stores, and online from September 2016 through May 2026.
No incidents or injuries have been reported related to this recall.
Risk:
The recalled children’s toys violate the mandatory standard for toys because they contain button cell batteries and the compartments that hold the batteries can be easily accessed by children, posing a deadly ingestion hazard to children. When button cell and coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death.
