Company announcement

Northwest Naturals is voluntarily recalling 53 cases (1,272 lbs.) of Frozen Chicken Recipe cat food and 19 cases (684 lbs.) of Frozen Raw Diet for Dogs Chicken Recipe.

The recall is due to potential contamination with Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes.

The recalled products were distributed to retail stores nationwide.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this voluntary recall as of August 28, 2026.

The contamination was identified after product samples tested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed the cat food positive for Salmonella and the dog food positive for Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella.

Risk:

Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes can affect animals eating contaminated pet products, and there is risk to people from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with contaminated pet products or any surfaces exposed to contaminated pet products and infected animals.
